HAYWARD

“Downtown Streets Team is a best practice” - Supervisor Nate Miley, Alameda County

In 2016, we launched our first East Bay Team in Hayward, "The Heart of the Bay." The City of Hayward has welcomed us with open arms as an innovative solution to people get off the streets, while addressing the needs of a strong business community. We will be beautifying the revitalized downtown core in and around B Street, with Team Members contributing positively to the community as a whole, while working toward individual goals.

Hayward Homeless Memorial List

Every year the city recognizes the people who have passed away while living on the streets. Names are submitted by community members. If you would like to confirm any of the listed information, please contact the Alameda County Coroners Office at 510-382-3000. View the full list of names.

Downtown Streets Team is a volunteer work-experience program. In exchange for beautifying your community, you receive gift cards to help with your basic needs and access to employment and case management services that support you in achieving your goals.
